Savouring the River

Savouring the River is an immersive exhibition presented at the Canada Pavilion at Expo Osaka in Osaka. Over three days, Japanese decision-makers and specialists were invited to dive into the world of the St. Lawrence River and discover Québec through a sensory experience blending images, sound, aromas, and gastronomy.

Six sequences of approximately ten minutes were created to immerse the audience along the banks of the St. Lawrence. From its origins in the ice to its forests, from the richness of its marine and terrestrial wildlife to the traces of human activity, each segment explores a different facet of this living territory.

At the heart of the journey: the river. Powerful, unpredictable, and full of stories. A living landscape that flows through Québec’s imagination as much as it shapes its identity.

The installation brought together audiovisual creation, aromatic exploration, and gastronomy. The visuals accompanied culinary creations by chef Jérôme Ferrer and aromatic compositions by sommelier François Chartier, inviting participants to experience Québec differently—through the senses, through matter, and through storytelling.
