The Walls That House Us is a web documentary series produced by the Montreal Network for Assistance to Single and Homeless Individuals (RAPSIM). This series explores different types of social housing designed for people who have experienced homelessness or extreme precarity. It gives a voice to various organizations and tenants across Montreal, highlighting the importance of offering a wide range of adapted housing solutions.
Each episode showcases a different organization, exploring the challenges and successes related to social housing. Among the partners featured are Logifem, La Maison Benoît Labre, Escale Famille Le Triolet, Projets Autochtones du Québec, L’Anonyme, Les Maisons de l’Ancre, Ressources Jeunesse de Saint-Laurent, Maison d’Hérelle, and Méta d’Âme.
The series aims to raise public awareness about the realities of homelessness and to promote sustainable solutions for social housing. It also highlights the crucial role of community workers in supporting individuals facing precarious living conditions.
